Careers Week
Careers Week was a great success, starting a whole school assembly getting students to think about why we go to work and what motivates us, is it always money? I interviewed lots of our staff and students were fascinated by the differing careers our teachers have had over the years. We displayed snapshots of their careers across the display screens in school, to get the conversation going!
Teaching of Careers is across our whole PSHE curriculum and this week we embedded specific career presentations into our subject lessons to highlight specific career paths and the potential salaries available. This included a wide range of subjects from science roles, business, dance and media to name a few. Students were able to explore the different routes you can take from traditional academic qualifications (GCSE, A Level, Degree) to the vast range of apprenticeships opportunities now available (please see my separate Careers Newsletter for the latest jobs)
