Gardening club
Spring has sprung and the plants are picking up pace! In the garden we’ve been busy cutting back brambles, planting out potatoes and onions and taking part in the RHS Big Seed Sow. Thank you to everyone who’s gardened 2024-2025, we’ve been awarded our RHS level 4 after amazing collaboration with DT building bird boxes, Textiles using flowers to do Tatakizome (flower hammering) and food tech cooking with vegetables we’ve grown. Next in our sights is working with students at Falklands Primary School and making a ‘bottle greenhouse’ so we have more space for raising seedlings. Empty, clean 2L, colourless fizzy drinks bottles would be much appreciated! (please bring to S6)
Space to Learn
Year 12 and Year 13 scientists were invited to take part in a Space themed day where they learnt about how the early scientists measured the size of the universe with very minimal technology, imagining how gravity works in space, and how astronauts have to adapt in space to cope without gravity.
