Whilst still a little chilly the Silver had their training weekend at the start of March, the groups were fantastic both camping, cooking and walking. As part of the training the groups recapped on basic map skills and route planning for the training walks, cooking some super meals on the trangia stoves and learning further survival and first aid skills including CPR. The groups camped for two nights in Linkenholt & Oxenwood taking advantage of Linkenholt’s fantastic facilities for training and an evening of cards.

The girls showed fantastic resilience and determination over the two days of walking and camping in unusual weather. Ella & Rachel said they both really enjoyed the weekend and it was really useful to build on first aid skills they’d learnt from Bronze and learn CPR. The groups are now ready for the assessed weekend on the 21st -23rd June as they finish their GCSEs in the beautiful New Forest.
