Fun Friday
We concluded last term with a huge Fun Friday Fundraiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital. A charity that as a school we owe so much to. The doughnut sale, and sweet jar competition raised an incredible £735.14. This was such a heart-warming amount and we are proud to have donated this much money to the hospital.
This term has been equally busy with ‘Fun’draising and Fun Friday' events. We kicked off this term with a huge event of pass the parcel. There were nearly 100 layers that included chocolates and house points. This was well received by our students, a clear nostalgic game that brought a lot of fun to end the students' week. This was followed by a hula hoop special. Students were encouraged to have fun at lunch time and get involved in hula hooping. Lots of hidden hula hoop professionals were unearthed.
In celebration with World Book Day we held an extra special Fun Friday Spelling Bee. Students took part in a spelling contest during the week to reveal winners that took part in a head to head spelling bee for fun Friday. The students worked really hard. Observing students celebrating each other’s success and mistakes was monumental. Our students clearly display our value of Be Kind. Clapping when students misspelt a word and also congratulating everyone that took part. A clear character value that students are embodying.
The following Fun Friday fell in conjunction with Red Nose day. For this event we aimed at trying to raise money for Comic Relief but also have fun. As a school we raised nearly £300 for the well-known charity. Students sold Red Noses but also put on Red Nose and Spoon obstacle race. This event was fiercely contested with Sofia H-S (Year 7 Albert) taking first prize for completing the course the quickest. As you can see from the pictures lots of fun was had by all those that took part including staff members.
We still have a couple of Fun Friday events to end the term with. A special Live Lounge editions where our musical student will take to the stage to display their amazing hard work and talent in Music, as well as a student favourite Karaoke Fun Thursday to end the term.
