Park House School

Cultural Diversity Day

Today was about celebrating students' cultures and heritage. Cultural Diversity Day is celebrated worldwide, and it was fantastic to bring that celebration through our school gates. Park House is truly an inclusive and diverse community, a community where students are kind and recognise other cultures, a community where all students feel safe.

A heart-warming idea from our student leadership group steered by our senior leader, Dora, turned into reality today. We kicked off the day with a Cultural Diversity Day assembly where students explained the importance of inclusivity and how through kindness (our school value), our school welcomes students from all different races, religion, class and creed.

Throughout the day staff and students have been encouraged to speak about their different cultures. At lunch time our catering staff cooked dishes from all over the world in order for our students to experience different foods. The spectacle though, was the student-led cultural fashion show that took place in the main hall. Students were encouraged to get changed into traditional dress and through walking the catwalk expose the school community to their cultures.

A huge well done and special thank you to; Alna, Misha, Shreeya, Keiyona, Divanshi (9 Croft) Aanya, Manya, Alex (9 Joseph), Geet (8 Albert) and Christy (8 Joseph)

Well done to everyone that was brave enough to be part of the fashion show and to celebrate Cultural Diversity Day.
