Park House School

2024 GCSE Results day

Park House School has again exceeded expectations and reached ‘new heights’ with their outstanding GCSE results. The results are not only the best in the school’s history by some distance, but along with last week's excellent A Level results really highlights the incredible progress that has been made at Park House in the last two years. Headteacher James King says “I am very rarely speechless, but these results left me completely blown away! We were confident that the students would do well as they had worked so incredibly hard, but these results surpassed what we were anticipating. The hard work from students and staff, along with the support from their families has made this momentous achievement possible. I am so very proud of all those associated with the school, and the part they have played in supporting this cohort of students. We have loved working with this group of students, they have been an excellent cohort to work with, applied themselves diligently and today get to enjoy the results of their endeavour. I am now incredibly excited to see them continue into the 6th form and carry on their successes. Whichever way they head from today, I wish them the very best of luck for their futures”.

Park House School joined the Greenshaw Learning Trust in September 2022. Since then, there have been rapid improvements in the school resulting in excellent outcomes and progress figures. The school attained a Progress score of +0.29 last year, which is above the national average. With this year’s results being far better, progress provisionally stands at +0.54, ‘well above’ the national average. Park House School’s mantra is that ‘all children who attend the school have a better chance of success than if they attended any other school’ and these results really prove that this vision has become a reality.

Maths results this year are again particularly impressive, with results at Grade 4+ standing at 86%, a 5% gain on last year’s results. In English, a similar successful picture emerges with Grade 5+ results jumping from 63% to 70%. Overall the percentage of students achieving a Grade 5+ in both the core subjects of English and Maths has risen from 52% to 65%. Jack Markey, Deputy Headteacher and Raising Standards Leader says “What a year we have had! I am so proud of how the students have applied themselves, and how well they tackled the exams. We can’t wait to welcome them back into 6th form and continue to support them to further success”
