Year 10 and 11 Rugby Tour
On Friday 11th October some forty Year 10 and 11 students and five members of staff headed to the ‘rugby hotbed’ of Gloucester for a weekend of rugby and other sporting pursuits.
The tour kicked off with a ‘wonder try’ courtesy of Harry and from there both teams excelled, playing a brand of rugby that is both entertaining to watch and incredibly hard to defend against.
Facing some significant physical challenges on the field, both teams demonstrated the substantial progress they have made, winning three of the four games across the weekend and certainly left their mark on Gloucester!
Away from rugby, the boys enjoyed some crazy golf, touch rugby, bowling and a race up the notorious Coopers Hill - home of the traditional Gloucester Cheese Rolling event! A real lung burner of a hill, the race was won by hot favourite Max, who managed to scale it in under a minute… and then suffered for some time as a result!
The only blot on the weekend was having to watch a substantial Gloucester loss at the hands of Bath!
All in all, a fabulous weekend away with a tremendous group of young men who were an absolute credit to the school both on and off the field.
We now look forward to the upcoming Netball trip in November to Wiltshire, and the Football trip to Torbay in March.
